Imphal, December 20: The 91st Birth anniversary of Rani Gaidinliu would be observed on the level of a State function on January 26, 2006 at G M hall.

In a statement issued by the Kabui Mothers' Association (KAMA), it remarked that Rani Gaidinliu was a great freedom fighter who fought relentlessly against the mighty British empire.

Observing that the struggle of the late heroine was for the whole of the then colonised Manipur, it asserted that the birth anniversary of such a magnanimous and ideal figure ought to be observed at State level and due recognition conferred.
