Imphal, September 05: In keeping with the objective laid down by the State Govt to utilise 67 pc of the Plan money by December 31, Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh has issued an office memorandum directing all Govt Departments to pace their expenditure so that the target is reached.

The remaining 33 pc of the Plan allocation is to be utilised for the last quarter of the 2005-06 fiscal.

The HoDs and administrative heads of Govt Departments have been instructed to fix responsibilities on officers for preparation/sanction and implementation of schemes.

The Chief Secy warned that responsibilities will be fixed if the departments fail to achieve the level of expenditure during the stipulated period adding that Plan allocation may be curtailed by the Centre for those departments which are unable to utilise the money sanctioned.
