Chandel officers contribute money to build road

Imphal, September 05: Setting an example for others, all the district level officers (DLOs) posted in Chandel district have contributed money from their own pockets to improve the road connecting Pallel with Chandel district headquarters.

A meeting of the DLOs was held with the newly posted Deputy Commissioner Norbert Disinang in the chair at his office chamber this afternoon to discuss the condition of existing roads in the district.

The meeting resolved to fill up the all the pot-holes which have come up at various points along the said road stretch posing great danger to movement of vehicles.

Immediately the officers took out whatever amount they had in their pockets and contributed the same for the purpose.

The collected amount has been handed over to the Executive Engineer of DRDA, Chandel for commencing the work immediately.

Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed on the responsibility of the district level officers in ensuring the success of the developmental works being taken up in the district.
