Imphal, June 19:
150 drums of bitumen were looted by unidentified persons from a truck (NL-07/L 1596) heading towards Imphal from Dimapur at about 2 pm today.
According to police, the incident took place in between Changoubung and T Khullen village along NH 39 under Kangpokpi police station.
The bitumen drums were confiscated after hijacking the vehicle and blindfolding the driver and the helper at an isolated place.
After they were released by the looters at the nearby jungle, driver Md Jahira Khan of Tripura and his helper reported the incident to Kangpokpi police station.
