Imphal, June 19:
Reacting to media reports that communal tension is brewing between the tribes of Maram and Poumai, the apex bodies of both the communities have today rubbished that reports.
Maram Union president Thomas and president of Poumai Masou Me or PMM (apex body of Poumais) Markson informed Newmai News Network today from Senapati that the problem was just between two villages in Senapati district and it had never been on communal line.
The two tribes' bodies said that it was solely between two villages who have their differences over some land.
The Maram Union and the Poumai Masou Me regretted that a section of media had painted the matter on the communal angle.
The tribes' bodies then urged the media to be more constructive while reporting.
Both the community leaders then asserted that since the issue is extremely sensitive in nature, the media should be very cautious and engage extra care on the matter.
