In yet another case of victimising and targeting innocent children, a 14 year old boy was kidnapped by some unidentified persons.
Although the boy was released unharmed, the few rupees he had for his pocket money were robbed by the unidentified kidnappers.
The incident took place when Potshangbam Kurbir s/o late Karambir of Yaiskul Sougaijam Leirak came to the house of his English teacher RK Jhulon of Yaiskul Hiruhanba Leikai for tuition class today morning.
According to family members, Kurbir went to his tuition master at about 6 am but he did not return home till 11 am today even though he used to come back at about 8 am daily.
Apprehensive and panic stricken over the failure of Kurbir to return home till 11am, the family members launched a manhunt for the missing boy.
In the mean time, Kurbir came back with panic writ large on his face.
He was so frightened that he could not even coherently reply to the questions of his parents.
After some time Kubir recounted the incident of the day.
After the tuition class was over, Kubir and one his friends came out from the house of Jhulon to have tea and snacks without his satchel.
After having tea, he went to the house of his teacher to take his satchel but he was stopped on the way by one tall man with dark complexion and asked him of one Rahul.
At the time, another man who came along with the tall man was standing nearby, Kurbir conveyed.
As Kurbir told the man that he did not belong to the locality and he did not know Rahul, he was again asked the purpose of his coming there.
While Kurbir was thus talking with the man, a white car (Alto) with 2/3 men drove towards him from the lane leading to the gate of Jhulon.
Stopping the car just beside him, the two unidentified men forcefully dragged him into the car, Kurbir recounted.
Shortly after, he was blindfolded with a scarf.
After driving the car around for a few hours, Kurbir was allowed to alight from the car at a place marked by piles of garbage.
Before his blindfold was removed and made allowed to alight from the car, the unidentified persons confiscated his wallet containing just Rs 30 or 40.In connection with the incident, the family members have complained to the local clubs located at their locality and at the locality of RK Jhulon.
