Progress report of the NLCPR projects undertaken in the State were reviewed at a meeting between a team of DoNER led by its Secretary Jarnail Singh and State officials held at Old Secretariat today.
The DoNER team arrived at Imphal today.
The review meeting chaired by the DoNER Secretary was attended by the Chief Secretary, Secretaries, Commissioners and officials related to NLCPR projects.
The meeting reviewed progress reports of NLCPR projects implemented in the State since 1997 at the total cost of Rs 650 crores.
On their part, the State officials assured the visiting team that all NLCPR projects being undertaken in the State can be completed within the targeted periods.
While asking the DoNER Ministry to release necessary fund in time, the State officials appealed for provision of agency
charges.
After perusing the progress reports, the DoNER Secretary exuded confidence that the NLCPR projects can be completed in time.
He also asked for utilisation certificates, if there is any yet to be submitted, and also for new proposals, if there is any project, the State wishes to propose.
After the meeting, the DoNER team personally assessed the Kongba power sub-station being constructed at Kongba under NLCPR.
Union Home Secretary GK Pillai, who is arriving at Imphal tomorrow, would be attending a seminar on the development projects of Manipur at INA complex, Moirang tomorrow together with DoNER Secretary Jarnail Singh.
The seminar would continue at Senapati on August 22 .
The Union Home Secretary would also be reviewing the law and order situation of Manipur with officials of Home Department before leaving Imphal on August 23 .
