Thoudam Brajabidhu's documentary film "Sangai: A vanishing Deer of Loktak (Deer of the Floating Park)" and R.K.Robindro's "Loktak: The Lake in Peril" have been nominated for 5th CMS Vatavaran Environment & Wildlife Film Festival 2009 to be held at India Habitat Centre New-Delhi from 27 to 31 Ocotober.
The awards of the Festival will be announced on 30 Ocotber 2009 at 7 pm during the Award ceremony.
"Sangai: A vanishing Deer of Loktak (Deer of the Floating Park)" has been nominated in the Wildlife Conservation Category and "Loktak: The Lake in Peril" has been nominated in the 2009 Focus: Natural Heritage Conservation Category.
Total 73 films have been nominated in the Indian Award Categories out of the 276 entries received in the Indian section.
Thoudam Brajabihdu's film "Sangai: A vanishing Deer of Loktak (Deer of the Floating Park)" is about the threatened Deer species Sangai of the Loktak Lake.
And R.K.Robindro's film "Loktak: The Lake in Peril" is about the Lake itself, which is under threat from all quarters.
Both the films are made under the production of Doordarshan Kendra Imphal.
Thoudam Brajabidhu and RK Robindro are working with DDK Imphal as Production
Assistants.
Thoudam Brajabidhu is a reputed Producer/Director, who have won four DD National Awards and his documentary film of renowned filmmaker Aribam Shyam Sharma had also been nominated for Indian Panorama in 2006 .
