Imphal, March 27 2010:
Three different organizations of Kuki have demanded to withdraw the monetary demand at the earliest made to Bus Owners' Association, Saikul, Senapati district allegedly by Kuki Revolution Army, (KRA-U) .
The three organizations (Kuki Innpi Saikul, Kuki Student Organisation (KSO-Saikul) and Kuki Women Union, Saikul) cautioned that failure to meet the demand would result in launching intense agitation.
Meanwhile, Thangkham Lupheng, president of Kuki Innpi, Saikul stated that the KRA-U had not served any extortion notice to the Bus Owners' Association, Saikul.
According to the Kuki organizations, the extortion notice served to the bus association was under the letter head of the KRA-U signed by one Athokpam Inaoba Meitei of Dolaithabi.
They also suspected that the monetary demand has been made for personal gain and therefore demanded revocation of the demand at the earliest in the interest of the public.
They have warned to launch intense agitation if their demand is not met at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the public of Saikul had to face huge problems owing to the non plying of the buses between Imphal to Saikul.
The bus had reportedly stopped plying since four days that led to the shortage of essential commodities in Saikul.
