Dimapur police of Nagaland have successfully recovered the stolen goods which were looted from a Imphal-bound goods truck (AS 01 BC 5471) on the night of March 19 at Chumukedima.
Eleven persons have been detained in this connection, Morung Express reported quoting police source on Saturday.
The stolen goods were recovered from two locations on March 25.Police estimate that the truck from Guwahati was carrying assorted goods worth around Rs 40 lakhs.
According police they received the complaint only on March 20 after a lapse of nearly nine hours.
Based on information and description given by the drivers of some of the persons who waylaid the truck, police were finally able to recover almost all of the goods on March 25 .
Some of the goods were first recovered from a place in Diphupar village near the NEZCC complex.
From there police were led to a house of one Alleng in Darogajan across the 'Chathe' river.
A major portion of the booty was recovered from that house.
Police said that after the truck was waylaid, the thieves commandeered it towards a place near the NEZCC complex and there it was unloaded first.
The robbers then used a pick-up truck to ferry a major portion of the loot across the river to the house of Alleng in Darogajan.
Almost "99 percent" of the looted item has been recovered, though police disclosed that some pilferages have been detected.
Personnel of 11 IRB, Women Cell, Diphupar PS, East police station led by the SDPOs of Dimapur and Niuland carried out the entire task of investigating and recovering and arresting the suspects involved in the robbery.
Police strongly hinted at the involvement of some persons from Manipur in the case.
Expensive telecommunication machineries and batteries were among the list of goods stolen from the truck.
