The stage for the Seven Sisters Barak Festival 2010 to be celebrated at Senapati district headquarters on March 29 and 30 under the theme 'Peace Through Culture and Identity' is almost set.
The festival is being organised by the Youth Hope Foundation in collaboration with 59 Mountain Brigade.
However, contrary to the earlier expectations, General Secretary of All India Congress Committee Rahul Gandhi would not be attending the opening ceremony of the festival.
It is expected that around 10,000 people would gather at Senapati district headquarters for the festival.

The opening day would feature cultural dance competitions.
The concluding day will marked by Miss Barak 2010 contest.
Out of 16 beauties from Assam, Nagaland and Manipur who have submitted participation forms, 14 contestants have already arrived at Senapati on March 25 .
They have taken classes on different topics from resource persons. Final screening test cum photo session of the contestants was also held at the Lairou camp of 36 Assam Rifles yesterday.
Five beauties from Nagaland, three from Assam and six from Manipur are contesting for the coveted Miss Barak 2010 crown.
