Together with opening an embroidery training centre at Moirangpurel in Imphal East district, 88 Bn BSF has also donated embroidery and sewing machines for use in
the centre.
The inaugural function of the centre was attended by Commandant of 88 Bn BSF Sham Kapoor, his wife Mrs Radha Kapoor and chairman of Moirangpurel Village Development Committee M Manihar as presidium members.
Mrs Radha Kapoor inaugurated the embroidery training centre in the presence of many BSF officers, students and the villagefolk.
She also handed over four sewing machines to the newly opened centre.
Speaking at the occasion, Commandant Sham Kapoor said that the 88 Bn BSF has implemented civic action programmes in different parts of the State successfully.
Moirangpurel village is the target of the same programme this time, he said.
He said that necessary initiatives would be taken up soon to open a free computer training course specifically for the educated unemployed youngsters of the area.
For the planned free basic computer course, 88 Bn BSF would provide necessary computer sets, he assured.
The function culminated with presentation of cultural programmes.
