Following the clarion call of the Citizen's Forum for Society not to allow the martyrs sites at Kekrupat the domain of any particular organisation as well as the appeal from the family members of the 18 martyrs, a number of social organisations as well as meira paibi lups have stated that they would jointly pay their respects and tributes at Kekrupat on June 18.Welcoming the stand of the Citizens' Forum for Society and the appeals from the family members, the United Ching-Tam Clubs Association in a statement today urged all to heed the call of the Forum as well as the appeals of the family members and not associate Kekrupat with any particular organisation.
Such a step will help the people to pay their tributes to the martyrs freely.
Echoing a similar sentiment, the Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba, Manipur (PLMPAM) in a statement said that the call of the Citizens' Forum for Society and the appeals from the family members should be taken seriously and added that their call is something which cannot be ignored anymore.
PLMPAM assured that it will support all further course of action taken up by the Citizens' Forum for Society and the family members.
The North Imphal Meirai Paibi Apunba Lup has also urged all not to make Kekrupat the domain of any organisation but make it a sacred place for all.
It added that it would take part in paying floral tributes at Kekrupat.
Other organisations which have backed the call of the Citizens' Forum for Society include, the North Eastern United Clubs' Organisation, Mayai Lambi Meira Paibisingi Lup, Poirei Apunba Leimarol Meira Paibi, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Meira Paibi Welfare Association Kangleikpak, Ching-Tam Nupi Apunba Lup, Pallel, Poirei Ita Meira Paibi Apunba Lup, Awang Nongpok Meira Paibi Lamjing Lup, All Thanga Area Meira Paibi Organisation, Naoria Kendra Women Welfare Association, All Thoubal District United Clubs' Organisation Khunai Kanba Apunba Meira Paibi Lup etc.
Meanwhile the United Clubs' Organisation of Bishenpur District has announced that it would observe June 18 at the INA Hall at Moirang under the theme 'Unity Day'.
The All Mayai Lambi Clubs' Organisation has also stated that it backs the call of the Citizens' Forum for Society to make Kekrupat a free zone and has decided to pay tributes at Kekrupat and the earlier plan to observe the day at Mayang Imphal bazar has been dropped.
The Sekmaijin to Tokpaching United Clubs' Organisation has also dropped its earlier plan and has instead asked to pay tributes at Kekrupat.
The Nambol Area Meira Paibi Apunba Lup while asserting that it will also pay tributes at Kekrupat has also stated that a public meeting will be held later at THAU ground.
