The facility of Third Generation (3G) Mobile Telecommunication Service will be made available in the state as the Bharat Sansar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is all set to launch the service tomorrow.
3G is the next generation of mobile communications systems.
It enhances the services such as multimedia, high speed mobile broadband, internet access with the ability to view video footage on your mobile handset.
With a 3G phone and access to the 3G network you can make video calls, watch live TV, access the high speed internet, receive emails and download music tracks, as well as the usual voice call and messaging services found on a mobile phone, like person to person video, live streaming, downloadable video of entertainment, news, current affairs and sport content and video messaging.
Official source in the Imphal BSNL today said that the 3G Mobile Generation Telecommunication which have already launched in some other parts of the country will be launched in the state too from tomorrow and dedicated to the people.
The new generation service will discharge date with a speed at the rate of two Mega Bite (MB) per second and it has a capacity of at least 348 Kilo Bite (KB) per second.
For providing the service to the people, BSNL Imphal authority has installed 33 towers at different locations.
Subscribers of BSNL mobile service can be availed by applying.
No additional charge will be imposed, said officials at the BSNL office.
The charge per minute for local call will be 70 paisa while it will be Re 1 per minute for STD call.
Facilities of downloading films, songs will also be available apart from having the facilities of online games and online business.
The BSNL authority in Imphal is also the telecom service operator has also started taken up steps to introduce Digital Satellite Phone service and Wireless Rural Broadband service in the remote areas of the state where there is bad telecommunication systems.
The BSNL is also planning to introduce Y-Desk Service by installing five towers at the earliest.
The service tower will be installed at Swambung in Imphal east district, Thoubal and Kakching in Thoubal district, Kangpokpi in Senapati district and Churachandpur district.
Currently, 28 towers of WLL service which is operating from Dimapur WLLMSC.
There is a plan to install an operational unit in Imphal also with installation of 33 additional towers.
