A two-day health mela organized by the District Health Mission Society, Senapati under National Rural Health Mission (NRH^l) was opened today at Senapati district hospital.
The mela opened by Senapati DC Nidhi Kesarwani is providing facilities for ultra sound, X-ray and ECG in addition to benefits of free treatment and free medicine.
Specialized doctors have also been attending the mela where 18 different stalls are opened.
Speaking at the occasion, Nidhi Kesarwani said that flagship programmes taken up by the Government cannot succeed without people's participation.
She noted that the health mela would benefit the poor who require health care in addition to educating them about health care.
The National Rural Health Mission has also been providing health care to remote villagers including pregnant women through Accredited Social Health Activists, said Nidhi Kesarwani who is also the chairperson of the District Health Mission Society.
