State and central security forces have arrested two cadres of the PLA outfit from different locations of Imphal West and Thoubal district yesterday.
According to a statement issued by SSP (IW) L Kailun district police apprehended Huidrom Premchan Singh (24) s/o (L) H Bijoy Singh of Kakwa Huidrom Leikai from near Kakwa Cinema hall at around 1.30 pm.
Premchan reportedly disclosed of joining the PLA organization in December 2009 under one Tomal of Kwakeithel and had been working under the command of PLA's Boinao Singh in the Finance Section.
He was assigned to ex tort money from general public, shopkeepers and also transportation of mo bile phones, money etc, maintained the SSFs statement while listing one Sony Handset with an Aircel Sim Card bearing No.9856572993 and one RC Book as the items seized from Premchan's possession.
The other PLA cadre identified as Lukram Thoi alias Thouyangba alias Pamheiba (91) s/o L Naba Singh of Oksu Thamang Leikai was hauled up from the house of one Moirangthem Iboton Singh of Heirok Pt-II Laishram Leirak Thokchom Leikai on March 18 at about 9 am.
Informing that Thoi was arrested by a combined team of district police commandos and troops of 21 Para, SSP (Thoubal) Clay Khongsai said based on Thoi�s disclosure one AK-56 rifle along with a magazine and 50 live rounds, one Chinese hand-grenade, two RPG shells with charger, one broken butt of AK-56 rifle and a magazine pouch were also recovered from the forest of Wabaching village.
Moreover, Thoi reportedly revealed of his involvement in the March 16 encounter with the 21 Para troopers at Old Tollen area.
He (Thoi) had physical injury while falling from a height during the said en counter, the SSP informed adding that the individual joined the PAL organisation in 2007 through one Ingo alias Nongleiba (31) s/ o Rameshwor and under went basic military training for 45 days in Myanmar the same year.
It is informed that Thoi was intercepted as a suspicious youth from the Heirok house during the course of house to house search con ducted by the combined security team from about 10.30 am.
