Imphal, December 07 2010:
The proscribed UNLF has categorically stated that it does not support the 48 hours bandh being called by one UG outfit against the arrest of Chairman Sana Yaima.
A press release issued by the outfit's senior publicity officer Ksh Yoiheiba remarked that the Government of India has been lying through the teeth by claiming that Sana Yaima was arrested from Bihar whereas the Chairman was actually arrested in Bangladesh.
Moreover, secret agents like RAW and other intelligence agents have been interfering in the politics of Bangladesh thereby reducing the status of Bangladesh to that of a subordinate State.

Such blatant lies have also exposed New Delhi's viewpoint with regard to the Manipuri people.
Asserting that it is most crucial to bring the people into the fold of the liberation movement, the outfit observed that the liberation movement can progress only by acting in line with the wishes and aspirations of the people.
Questioning possibility of the liberation movement gaining any advantage from the 48 hours bandh and further asking if such steps would be consistent with Sana Yaima's ideals, the statement said that it would not support the bandh call.
Pointing out that the proposed bandh would affect the people economically besides curtailing the means of livelihood for thousands of daily wage earners, the outfit advised all concerned to withdraw the bandh call.
After more than two months of silence maintained by both Delhi and Dhaka, the arrest of Meghen was formally announced on November 30 .
