Authority of JNV, Khumbong indefinitely suspended its normal classes following an incident last night when some students created chaos and destroyed school properties over an issue.
Principal, N Dhiren said that an unwanted incident took place on November 18 last in the hostel of the JNV among some students.
With intervention from the Deputy Commissioner in Charge from JNV, Shillong normalcy returned in the JNV on December 4 last.
Some students found outside the JNV campus using intoxicants were handed over to the JNV authority by the local people yesterday morning at around 10.45 am.
After investigation, three students of class XII were suspended from the JNV.
Later JNV authority and some senior students held a discussion meeting.
During the meeting around 200 senior students of class X to XII began to create chaos and destroyed school properties.
Patsoi police and Imphal West SDPO, Modhunimai came and controlled the mob.
Regarding the issue, the authority has suspended the normal classes of class IX and XII indefinitely.
Resumption of normal classes will be intimated later after a discussion with the Regional Deputy Commissioner in Charge who is in Tamenglong now,
said Dhiren.
