Assistant Engineer of PWD Ningthoujam Bimol, who had been abducted by unidentified armed persons from his house on December 4, was set free in Churachandpur today morning.
Talking to mediapersons at his Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai residence on arrival at home today, Bimol said that he was not subjected to any torture while in captivity and his abductors have asked the names of the contractors and sub-contractors involved in the road construction work along the Imphal-Moreh stretch of the National Highway 39 .
So, he have given the names of the contractors.
Bimol recalled that two unidentified youths who came riding a Dio picked him up from home in the morning of December 4 and took him to Tiddim Service Station along Airport Road.
From there, four of them including himself came together in a white colour Maruti car till Moirang Lamkhai.
After that, he did not know the road and the direction he was being taken, Bimol said, adding that at last, he was taken to a house.
On the second day of his abduction, Bimol further re recalled, his abductors asked for the names of the contractors and sub-contractors involved in the road construction work in between the Imphal-Moreh stretch of National Highway 39.So, he gave the names.
His abductors brought him to Churachandpur Parking this morning and he caught a bus to reach home, Bimol informed.
It may be recalled here that on the previous night of abducting Bimol by unidentified armed persons, five officials of Public Health Engineering Department, who have been abducted by KCP (MC), was set free.
The five officials have been abducted from Taphou in Senapati district in the morning of November 27 .
