Imphal, February 19, 2010:
The Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has appealed to the State Government to declare results of the DPC held last year for recruitment of primary teachers.
A press release issued by DESAM reminded that written test for recruitment of around 1017 primary teachers was held on December 22, 2006 but DPC for candidates successful in the written test was held only last year.
The student body appealed to the Chief Minister to declare DPC results at the earliest so that selected candidates can join service before commencement of the next academic session scheduled to begin in April.
Noting that thousands and thousands of security personnel have been recruited during the same period without any hitch in the name of law and order, the DESAM decried the alleged casual treatment of education sector by the State Government.
It urged upon the State Government to pay attention to the education sector to the same degree as law and order.
