To bring about genuine integrity in the country the orthodox nature of the people should be abolished completely, stated N.Biren, Manipur minister of IFCD and YAS on the concluding day of the National Integration Camp today.
The 6-day National Integration Camp organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan was concluded Friday at Imphal.
Addressing the function, Biren stated that despite Manipur being in a conflict zone, people of various communities still do not want to leave the state.
This is a sign of secularism, stated Biren.
Emphasing on the significance of youths' role in the development of the country, N.Biren asserted that only when the society has strong youths the country would emerge as a strong country.
The National Integration Camp has made contributions in uniting different communities and various religious groups of the country, added N.Biren.
While stating the country as a secular state mentioned in the Constitution of India, he reiterated that the people of the country should respect and serve each other irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
While stating that the camp has given the opportunity to mingle with the youths of various states, he revealed that plans of organizing such camps next year is in the pipeline and a request has been made to the finance department for extending financial help for organizing such camps in Imphal.
The youths from the other states while appreciating the beauty of the state of Manipur, stated that they would love to visit the state once again.
One of the visitors from Assam named Mithun Das from Silchar said, "Initially he thought that the state is a dangerous state but it is totally different, the place is like heaven and the people are lovely, I'm going back home carrying he memories of the state".
Meanwhile, various cultural programmes, essay competition, drawing competition were being held on the concluding day of the National Integration Camp.
