TEN OFFICERS serving under the Manipur government were among around 600 who have been appointed as observers of the forth coming general elections to the Legislative Assemblies by the Chief Election Commission of India.
The observers appointed officers of the state were T Sitlou, director, Department of Information and Public Relation, Khiamni Panmei, commissioner (excise), V Thangasiam, additional secretary (revenue), Letkhogin Haokip, commissioner (agriculture, social welfare, minor irrigation and CADA, H Devasekhar Sharma, commissioner (director of education), L Ibomcha Singh, commissioner (veterinary and MOBC), H Imocha Singh, commissioner (transport, co-operation and IFCD), S Budhichandra Snigh, commissioner (science and technology), BB Sharma, secretary (tourism) and L Thagtawn, director (tribal development).
General elections to the six states of the country, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Jammu and Kashmir, Chattisgarh and Rajasthan are being held in different phases commencing from November last week to December next.
