Tutorial on "Meitei Mayek" to be held at Pune University

In concurrence with the recent initiative of University Grants Commission (UGC) to include the history and culture of Northeast in the higher education curriculum of Indian universities, Pune based Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND) is planning to conduct a beginners' tutorial programme on "Meitei Mayek Script" for people staying in and around Pune.

Secy of AMAND, Pune said today that the tutorial program will commence on June 8 and conclude with a final examination on July 20 .
The programme aims at providing a common platform for the Manipuris, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, in propagating awareness on rights and issues related to social justice, and also to enhance communal harmony and national integration through fair practices, the release added.
The association founded in September 2011 and registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 at Pune, Maharashtra is organising the audio-visual mode tutorial program at the University of Pune to create a common platform for anyone to know and understand the North Eastern states which is also in line with its ideology "Let them know us as we know them" .
