Non-adherence of the Naga People's Convention declaration (NPO) has led to dissolution of Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal (TKLI) 2010-11 tenure here yesterday.
In a release signed by the president Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), the apex body of the Tangkhul frontal Organisations, it is stated that the joint meeting of all the frontal organisations held yesterday at the office of TNL pertaining to non-adherence of the directives given by the TKS and TNL to refrain from inviting any representatives of the 'communal' Govt of Manipur during the recent sports meet cum general conference 2010 of Tangkhul Katamnao Long Imphal necessitated to dissolve the student body (TKLI) .
According to the release, the frontal organisations unanimously supported the action of dissolving the TKLI president and its executive members for the year 2010-11 and also decided to initiate other actions against the office bearers of TKLI for defying the 3rd Naga People's Convention declaration adopted on 1st July 2010 at Tehamzan/Senapati.
Condemning the 'irresponsible, act of undermining and defaming the will and aspirations of the Naga people by the TKLI executive council in the strongest term, the joint meeting rued that irreparable shame and disgrace have been caused to the Tangkhul community in particular and Naga nation in general for the personal and vested interests.
As per five (5) points order/directive of TNL, TKLI was dissolved with immediate effect from Oct 23, 2010, in order to safeguard the interest of the Naga nation and the assembly affairs of TKLI has been directed to convene a general body meeting at the earliest under the supervision of TKS barring the present officer bearers of TKLI from contesting the forth coming election of the students body.
