Specialists from Kolkata based Apollo Gleneagles Cancer Hospital would now be visiting Imphal on a regular basis to offer consultation and conduct cancer screening programmes.
Significantly, the AGCH has also announced 15 percent discount in treatment at the hospital for journalists working in Manipur and their families.
This was announced by the Consultant, Radiation Oncology of the hospital, Dr Tanmoy Mukhopadhyay during a press meet at the Manipur Press Club this evening.
Dr Tanmoy said as a part of offer consultation and conduct cancer screening programmes, the specialists of the hospital would come to Imphal and conduct free cancer detection and cardiology check-up around June-July.
AGCH is the first of its kind with 100-bedded super speciality cancer care destination in the Eastern region which offers multi-modality treatment under one roof, he said.
Dr Tanmoy is optimistic that the hospital will provide relief to people of North East, in getting cancer treatment to other far-off places of the Country.
He said it will help save time and money of the people.
The hospital would offer services like IGRT, IMRT, Framless radio surgery, stereotactic radio surgery, radio frequency ablation, and bone marrow transplant etc and also it would provide unique features like paediatric cancer unit, women cancer unit etc, Dr Tanmoy said.
