IAFOM pays homage on Ko Gyi

Imphal, April 21 2012:
The foundation day of Indo-ASEAN Friendship Organisation, Manipur (IAFOM) was observed today along with a condolence reference on the sudden and untimely demise of Ko Gyi, founder Executive member of the Organisation.
The function was graced by MLA of Thangmeiband A/C Khumukcham Jaikishan Singh as Chief Guest, Chairman of IAFOM K Ibohal Singh as President and Takhellemband Tomba Singh as Guest of Honour.
Jenny Gangte, w/o late Ko Gyi and their two sons, namely Paulzom and Henry were also present at the occasion.
In his speech, Jaikishan suggested the area of operation of the organization should cover throughout ASEAN countries instead of concentrating only in the neighbouring states of the North East.
He also expressed his desire to extend co-operation and support to the venture of the organizations and said that he looking forward to the progress of IAFOM.
All those who were present at the occasion also paid floral tribute to late Ko Gyi and observed two minutes silence as mark of respect to the departed soul.
Ko Gyi alias U Aung Kyam Oo of Zomi Village, Imphal was the eldest son of Mr U Chit Swe and Mrs Daw Hala Kyim of 28th Street, Mandalay, Burma (Myanmar).
He passed away after a short illness at his residence today.
