All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) has urged the people of the State to collectively pay homage and offer floral tribute to the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of the motherland on Khongjom Day.
Speaking to reporters in a press conference held at its office, AMUCO president KT Rahman said, it is the responsibility of every citizen of Manipur to take part in the Khongjom Day celebration to be organised on April 23 at Kheba Ching to mark respect and pay homage to the known and unknwon martyrs who have sacrificed their lives to protect the freedom of Manipur.
KT Rahman added that a team would leave for Kheba Ching from AMUCO office at 7 am on the day to attend the Khongjom Day celebration.
Saying that AMUCO would use a special poster specially printed for the day under the theme, 'martyrs sacrifice for the motherland', KT Rahman urged the State Police Department to allow the social body to use the said poster.
