Imphal, November 30: MBSU, Imphal registered second consecutive win following a hard fought 3-1 victory in penalty shoot-outs against OSA, Oinam that ensured the former�s passage into the final phase of the 49th Sir Churachand Singh memorial football tournament.

Goalkeeper Gaihomlung proved a hard nut to crack under the MBSU bar saving two penalty kicks to ensure the vital win.

Playing a qualifying round match at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium today, MBSU and OSA failed to break the deadlock in normal period and shots from the spot had to be applied to decide the winner.

O Inaocha, S Raju and L Boipu converted their attempts into goal for MBSU as H Gobinchandra�s shot ballooned over the crosspiece.

For the Oinam side only P Paukingai could beat Gaihomlung from the post while Kh Kiran�s salvo hit the upright.
