Imphal, November 30: Categorically asserting that it was the Assam Rifles which was responsible for the killing of four members of a family at Noney recently, the proscribed UNLF today said that the security force is trying to confuse the people by dragging in the name of the outfit in the incident.

Reacting to the claims of the Assam Rifles and issued through the PIB (Defence Wing), UNLF today said that though it had already made it clear that they were not involved in the incident, the security force is hell bent on confusing the people with concocted stories and added that this should not surprise anyone as the SF has come under the impression that the lives of the people of Manipur can be bartered away with some money and a pig or two.

To underline its point, the outfit quoted the example of the killings of pastor Jamkholet Khongsai, LD Rengtuiwan and his wife, the killing of four persons including a mother and her child at Senapati by security force and the manner in which they were hushed up.

The security personnel have come under the impression that they can get away with cold murder and settle the matter by giving some money and offering a pig or two and some chicken, said UNLF and added that the time has come for the people to say no to such practices.

Under the garb of �Friends of the Hill people� the security force has also been trying to poison the mind of one community against the other.
