Committee for drug Abuse Prevention (Codap), Manipur will conduct a 35 day free drug de-addiction residential camp for Imphal East district at Don Bosco High School, Chingmeirong from December 20 onwards.
Announcing conduct of the proposed camp during a press conference held at Hotel Excellency, codap convenor L Krishnamohon Mangang also cited successful conduct of similar camp at Moidangpok in Imphal West district that concluded on October 16.Expecting a camp strength of 100 clients at Don Bosco, the convenor claimed that most clients including alcoholic, psychotropic tablet users and heroin (No 4) addicts who attended the Moidangpok camp have recovered and urged needy persons to join the upcoming camp.
Like in the earlier camp, doctors and counsellors would treat and provide counselling besides extending free medical facilities to the campers.
He, however, hastened to add that medical expenses for complicated case would have to be footed by respective clients of their families/guardians.
