Imphal, March 19: The Governor Dr SS Sidhu joined others in congratulating Commonwealth Games 2006 gold medallist N Kunjarani Devi.

A statement issued by the Governor's Secretariat conveying Dr Sidhu's applause to the weightlifter also said that her achievement has made both India and Manipur proud.

He (Dr Sidhu) also feels that this a step in her striking gold in the coming 2008 Beijing Olympics, further informed the statement and added that her endeavour must be supported by all concerned, including the State Government.

Manipur Olympic Association also conveyed its hearty congratulations to weightlifters N Kunjarani devi and Y Renubala Devi on their gold medal winning performances at the ongoing 18th Commonwealth Game 2006 at Melbourne, Australia.

In its congratulatory message the MOA expressed hope of more glory from the two lifters in future international events.
