Imphal, March 19:
Imphal West police commandos rescued a man from the custody of militants during a search operation at Arong Nongmaikhong today at about 6 am.
Sources said that as the police commandos neared the place, they were fired upon by the militants.
The cops also returned fire but there is no report of any casualty on either side.
In the follow up search operations the commandos came across a man tied and blind folded with tell tale signs of being severely thrashed.
Police took him to RIMS hospital and he was unable to even speak for a long time.
However after preliminary medical care, the man regained his strength and gave his name as Dominic Lamkang (33) of Komsan village.
