Ukhrul, March 19: In a bizarre incident a 45 year old man stabbed his wife to death today at about 7 am at Hundung in Ukhrul district.

Two sisters of the deceased woman, who tried to stop the husband were also critically injured while a 4 year old son of the couple was also seriously injured.

The husband is identified as C Atunglen while his deceased wife is named as Ningshimphy (29), daughter of VR Shangkazip of Shangshak village.

Atunglen served in the SSB earlier.

The two sisters of the deceased woman are identified as VR Joycy (30) and VR Leiya (31).The 4 year old son who was also injured is identified as Rinmi.

C Atungleng has been arrested by Ukhrul police personnel and a case has been registered.

The three injured victims were referred to RIMS Hospital, Imphal as their conditions were critical.

Rinmi suffered injuries on the shoulders while Joyce was stabbed on the stomach.
