Imphal, March 19:
Decrying the attitude of Chief Minister O Ibobi who allegedly gave a cold shoulder to its representative after inviting for talk, the JAC against the brutal killing of Simthar Tangkhul, L Govind and injuring of L Langamba has announced its decision of intensifying agitation.
Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, JAC convenor K Suresh decried the failure of the Govt to identify the assailants even after more than 2 and half months of the incident.
The Govt has also not extended any sort of assistance to the bereaved families of Simthar and Govind as well as to Langamba, who is still under medication, he lamented.
Suresh informed that in response to a formal invitation, the representatives of the JAC went to meet the C M at his official residence yesterday.
The meeting was scheduled to be held at 4 pm.
Although the representatives reached much ahead of the appointed timing, it was at around 6.12 pm that the CM gave them audience.
When the JAC placed the demand for instituting a judicial inquiry into the incident, the CM told the representatives that it would require a report from the CBI first of all as the case has been already handed over to the CBI and abruptly got up to leave the meeting stating he has some urgent works and the next round of meeting may be held in first week of April, Suresh further informed.
The CM also did not pay attention to the request for giving interim relief to Langamba who has been paralysed from waist downward and still needs medical attention, the JAC convenor alleged.
