Moreh, March 23: Meetei Council Cricket Team advanced into the semi final of the CDCA Trophy 2006 cricket with a comfortable 58 run win over Bachelor's Youth Welfare Association (junior) at the SRYC ground here today.

After a shaky start in which both openers were sent back in two overs Ashraf ali and skipper Surendro steadied the MCCT boat with useful partnership of 90 runs thereby laying the foundation for the middle and lower order batsmen to plunder the BYWA bowlers in piling 217 runs from the allotted 30 overs.

On the otherhand, BYWA had a good start to the chase scoring 110 runs by the 17th over before a dramatic middle order collapse engineered by Sanayaima (3 wkts) and Ibobi (2) restricted the total to only 159 runs.

Ashraf was named man of the match for his 48 run contribution and one wicket.
