Imphal, March 23:
Parents of HSLC 2006 examinees have submitted a memorandum to the Secretary of Board of Secondary Education Manipur accusing invigilators/officer in-charge of Brighter Academy (A&B) centre of duty negligence.
The parents' representation alleged the exam centre officials of inability to provide extra answer sheets promptly when the candidates demanded resulting loss of precious 10-15 minutes of almost the entire examinees at the centre on March 20 (mathematics paper).
inspite of verbal assurance by the officials no compensatory extra time was given to the examinees to make for the loss of time, maintained the memo which also highlighted impossibility to accomplish the task of answering for 100 marks within the allotted time of three hours.
Asserting that anxieties created due to lethargy of the officials have had adverse affect to the performance of the candidates and would dent their prospect to excel in the paper, the parents questioned what measures would the Board authority initiate to redress grievances of the examinees.
In the academic interest in general and interest of the examinees in particular proper preventive measure be adopted to avoid recurrence of such carelessness in the future, the representation suggested.
Copies of the memorandum have also been addressed to other relevant authorities.
