Imphal, January 24: The proscribed UNLF today admitted that two of its MPA cadres were killed in a shoot out with the security force near Singmui Lamkhai in CCpur's Henglep sub division yesterday.

In a statement UNLF said that the shoot out occurred when a select team of the MPA comprising of 12 members were advancing towards a camp of the security personnel.

The Indian army used 2 inch mortar in the gun fight, said the statement.

The deceased include the commander of the team Sgt Maj Konthoujam Konthouba alias Sanamacha of Angtha Mamang Leikai and Pte Ningthoujam Taibang alias Romen of Keibul Chingmai Bamon Leikai.

The bodies of the two deceased have been retrieved by the other MPA cadres and brought to the unit headquarters where the last rites were performed today.
