Imphal, January 24: Manipur Human Rights Commission has asked the DGP to furnish a final report on the death of one undertrial prisoner of Central Jail, Sajiwa at JN Hospital in 2002.The deceased Henlun Manlun (23) died on January 22, 2002 after being remanded to judicial custody by the Special Court (NDPS) as an accused in FIR No.43 (7) 2001, said the case records.

A UD case no 1/2002, Porompat PS had been registered and post mortem of the body was conducted with video coverage on January 23.The rights panel took up the matter first on May 9,2002.After certain communications, the police had in November, 2004 submitted report to the rights panel saying that the investigation report was pending for want of expert opinion from CFSL, Kolkata.
