Imphal, January 24:
Education Minister Francis Ngajokpa today informed a group of media persons at his office chamber that the Govt is keen to settle the stir launched by students of Vocational studies through dialogue and to study the root cause of their grievances.
A student of Vocational studies had even tried to self immolate in front of the CM's bungalow a few days back.
The Minister said that the Govt has started taking up the required steps to look into the grievances of the students and added that the root cause of the students' ire will also be studied.
As it is impossible to concede to all the demands of the students immediately, the Govt may take some time in fully redressing their woes, said the Minister.
Ngajokpa however refuted the charges of the students that the fund released for vocational studies have been misused.
Touching on other topics, the Minister informed that the State Govt has written to the Centre to make secondary education compulsory in line with elementary education, which is compulsory.
