Imphal, January 24: Showing solidarity to the boycott call given by various underground organisations of the State with regard to the upcoming Republic Day celebration, KCP has today appealed to the public to refrain from attending the Republic Day celebration nor extend any support or cooperation to the Govt in organising the celebration.

In a statement, Secretary Publicity and Information AK Akber and Information KCP AK Akber Mangangcha opined that there was no reason for the people to celebrate republic day as the people of Manipur are still reeling under the yoke of the Indian colonial rule.

Stating that Manipur was forcibly merged into the Indian Union on October 1948 October 15, he said that the outfit will always boycott the Republic Day celebration as long as the Indian Govt do not rectify its mistakes and return the freedom of the Manipuris.
