Imphal, February 28: Unidentified gunmen shot dead a man at Thingnungei Mamang Maning Leikai seven kms east of Bishnupur PS last night at around 9.The victim has been identified as one Oinam Biranjoy alias Maninganba (35) of Phubala Makha Maning Leikai.

According to family members, Biranjoy left home about 13 years back and joined the proscribed outfit KYKL.

The victim is survived by a wife and a son.

Biranjoy received bullet wounds on the forehead and chest.

Some empty cases were also recovered from the crime site by the police.

Bishnupur police has registered a case in connection with the incident.
