Imphal, February 28:
Strongly condemning the burning of Manipuri text books written in Bengali script by MEELAL actvists, MAFYF has termed the actions as insane and irrational which is totally against the interest of the student community.
In a statement, MAFYF said that ongoing agitation has severely affected academic atmosphere in the State and further said that the recent agitation launched by several student bodies for non availability of text books have been reduced to nought by the ongoing agitation.
Informing that most of the Meetei Mayek activist who are currently lodged in the jail are teachers who have joined the agitation in the hope of getting job as a Meetei Mayek teacher in the Govt schools, MAFYF said that such teachers will never be sincere and therefore cautioned the people to be extra careful against these teachers.
Castigating the MEELAL activist for asking the editors to print the front page of the local dailies in Meetei Mayek script, MAFYF said that MEELAL were pouring their anger on the media as they have not been able to do anything against the Govt.
