Imphal, February 28: To ascertain whether the summon letters send to the personnel of 28 AR in connection with Bungte Chiru firing, were served to them, the ongoing Inquiry set to probe the incident would examine the Post Master of Imphal Post Office tomorrow.

Mention may be made that he Bungte Chiru probe panel had on February 10 sent summons letters to four personnel of 28 AR including its CO asking them to appear before the Commission for questioning on February 18 and 19.But all the four failed to turn up, said Commission sources.

After recording the statements of the Post Master, the probe panel headed by retired Judge C Upendra would pass the necessary order to ensure appearance of the four, sources said.

Personnel of 28 AR allegedly shot dead retired teacher LD Rungtuiwan and injured his wife Thangmuchin during a CI operation at Bungte Chiru in Bishnupur district on November 16, 2004.Some villagers were also allegedly bashed up by the security personnel.
