In a hurriedly convened Cabinet meeting at the conference hall of the Chief Minister today, it was resolved to commence the 13th sitting of the 8th Manipur Legislative Assembly from February 22.As this would be the first sitting of the current year, it would be opened with an address by Governor Dr SS Sidhu.
It is reported that the Women's Reservation Bill and a report on the State Minorities Commission might be tabled during the session.
It may be recalled here that Women Reservation Bill, scheduled to be tabled during the last edition of the State Assembly, was not produced before the House as there was no clearance from the Union Home Ministry.
However, today's meeting did not make any discussion on the bills and issues to be produced in the house, informed a source.
Meanwhile, a notice summoning draft bills and business agenda from all the Departments under the State Government by February 10 has been issued by the Law secretary today, mentioned the source.
