Lamka, February 06: The 5th LamKut Lam Festival, 2006 of the Kom Rem community would be celebrated under the auspices of Kom Rem Chiefs Welfare Organisation at Harmanthang village in Churachandpur district with effect from February 8.MLA T Manga Vaiphei; Kom Rem Union, Manipur president K Leipakngam, head master S Rhangbuchung Kom and National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) president Dr Ch Rajketan would be respectively chief guest, president, guest of honour and moderator of the inaugural function.

Secy Kangathei Dr S Thangeireng Kom, Kom Rem Chief's Welfare Organisation secy T Hmunerchung Kom would also attend the function to be marked by presentation of cultural dances by people belonging to various communities and coming from different parts.

On the other hand, a felicitation programme would be held at Khongnangpokpi Baptist Church in Senapati district on February 9 in connection with the winning of the song competition by Kangchup area in the 2nd Triennial fellowship, 2006 organised by Kom Rem Baptist Churches' Association.
