Imphal, September 16:
At least four passengers sustained injuries when unidentified armed persons fired and looted six vehicles at Sinam Lamkhai, about 10 kms north of Tengnoupal police station at around 8.10 am today.
All the vehicles were heading towards Moreh from Imphal.
The six ill-fated vehicles include one Palio car (MN04/9404), one Tata Truck (MS10/2108) and four Tata Sumos.
The registration numbers of the Tata Sumos are AS01-V/7362, AS01/7916, MN01-K/5951 and AS01-N/3880.Four passengers traveling in Tata Sumo (MN01-K/5951 sustained injuries when the armed looters fired at them to stop it, smashing the window shields.
All the four injured passengers who have been brought and admitted to RIMS Hospital here are identified as Rina Lamkang (30) w/o Thamba lamkang of Pallel Lamkang centre, Miss Mami (24) d/o Konising of Lamkang Centre, Sapam Bilashini (40) w/o Kunjabihari of Khurai Thangjam Leikai and the driver Mutum Sanatomba (25) s/o M Menjor of Khurai Salanthong.
Rina was hurt on her face, Mami on the left side of her head, Bilashini on the right shoulder and head and Sanatomba on the left shoulder besides glass shards hurting his eyes.
Two Tata Sumos - MN01-K/5951 and AS01-N/3880 - have returned to Imphal bringing the injured persons, while the rest have proceeded to Moreh after the incident.
