Following instruction from CBI Special Crime Branch, Kolkata, which is investigating the sensational kidnapping and murder of the then eight year old Lungnila Elizabeth, daughter of Education Minister Francis Ngajokpa, two accused Under Trial Prisoners (UTPs) have been transported from the Central Jail, Sajiwa today to undergo forensic test at Gandhinagar.
The two murder accused identified as Thokchom Nando alias Nanao s/o Subol of Khangabok Lamlong Bazar and Nameirakpam Rome Meetei alias Michael alias Amuba s/o N Tomba of Bashikhong Mamang Leikai have been flown to Kolkata this afternoon.
Apart from a special team of the State force, police commando led by a Sub-Inspector is providing the necessary security coverage during the prisoners' transportation.
The Jailor and a warden of Sajiwa Jail are also accompanying them.
The two UTPs would be received at the Kolkata Airport by a special team of the CBI (Special Crime Branch) who will subsequently escort them to Directorate of Forensic Sciences, Gandhinagar, Gujarat in a train.
Nando and Rome would be subjected to three different forensic tests at the Directorate of Forensic Sciences located adjacent to Gandhinagar Police Bhavan on September 19.The forensic tests to be conducted on them are Psycho-Analysis Test, Narco-Analysis Test and Brain Finger printing.
It is said that at least one week�s time would be required for conducting these scientific tests.
But it is yet unknown whether the results of the tests would be made available or not soon after conducting the tests.
The green signal for transporting Nando and Rome to Gandhinagar for the test was given after a Criminal Revision Petition filed by CBI (Special Criminal Branch) Kolkata at the Gauhati High Court Imphal Bench.
But it had been delayed till today due to certain inconveniences of the State Home Department, said press source.
