Ibopishak honoured with Jewel of India

Imphal, September 16: Okram Ibopishak Singh s/o O Ibomcha Singh and late Okram Ongbi Akoijam Tampak Devi of Thoubal Ningombam has been honoured with the prestigious Jewel of India award in a grand ceremony held at Conaught Hotel, 37, Saheed Bhagat Singh Marg, near Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi on September 14.The award is instituted by International Institute of Education and management, a well-known organisation based in New Delhi.

The award has been conferred to Okram Ibopishak Singh in appreciation of his outstanding contribution and achievements in the field of education and management in Manipuri society.

The function was attended by eminent educationists, politicians, intellectuals, businessmen and industrialists among others.

About 30 persons from all over the country were awarded along with Ibopishak.

A one-day seminar on the topic of �Education and Economic Development was also held at the occasion.
