As an intensified form of agitation, employees of the Manipur government has decided to launch series of sit-in protest in various convenient places commencing from January decrying government remaining sticking to its stance by not granting their demand for provision of revised pay structure of the 6th pay commission.
Meanwhile, JAC, Senapati branch which has been extending support to the stir of the JAC today while reacting to the statement given by the chief minister regarding government's position on the provision of the revised pay to the employees recently said "It is bad for the chief minister telling lie" .
The stir is to be launched above the currently continuing indefinite cease-work strike and closure of government offices, said a statement of the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees Organization (AMGEO) spearheading the strike demanding implementation of the 6th Pay Commission.
The sit-in protests are to be launched at various places nearby the offices which the employees consider to be convenient, the statement said while announcing the programme.
On the first day of the protest on January 12, the employees under the All Manipur Elementary School Teachers' Association will staged the protest nearby the zonal education offices.
The same protest will be carried out at the Imphal east DC office complex on January 14, the second day of the protest.
Likewise, the sit in protest will be carried out at Lamphel DC complex on January 15, at veterinary head office Sanjenthong on January 16, at commerce and industries complex, Lamphel on January 19, at directorate of fisheries on January 20, at directorate of transport office Babupara on January 22, at IIT Takeyelpat on January 23 etc till January 31 .
If the government do not responded till date then, JAC will launch more intensify forms of stir, the statement also warned.
JAC, Senapati branch also, in a statement, said that the employees in the district were not satisfied with the government attitudes towards its employees who are on cease-work strike for such a long time.
Many of the employees are well qualified one who can even teach the ministers, MLAs.
So, telling lie by the chief minister will not be a right one, the statement said while observing that remaining silent by the MLAs is also bad.
