As many as twelve candidates are likely to be in the fray in the Outer Parliamentary Seat of Manipur for the forth coming Lok Sabha elections.
Although there have been no official declarations about their candidatures, if the readings at present are to be counted, then there will be more than twelve candidates contesting.
Intensive and extensive campaigning have begun.
Prominent among the aspiring candidates are Divisional Forest Officer of Tamenglong District, Mani Charenamai, ex-president of All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM), Kho John, journalist Valley Rose, ex-MP Kim Gangte, ex-official of Air-India D Loli Adanee and scores of other public leaders.
Valley Rose Hungyo will be contesting from a Naga National Party Naga National Party (NNP) ticket while Mani Cheranamai (DFO) will be contesting as an independent candidate, according to sources.
Ex-MP Meijinlung Kamson will probably field his candidature as a BJP candidate, being an executive member of the Party.
However, sources told Newmai News Network that things in this regard are still unpredictable stage.
